Eligibility

Criteria

Bis-Man paratransit door-to-door services are available to senior citizens 70 years of age or older and to individuals with any type of certifiable disability. Those under the age of 8 must have an escort. Bis-Man Transit operates within the city limits of Bismarck, Mandan, and Lincoln or within 3/4 mile of the fixed route (CAT Bus).

Applying

Individuals interested in applying for services can go to the application, print and fill it out, and return it to the Bis-Man Transit office at 3750 East Rosser Avenue, Bismarck, ND 58501. Senior citizens need to include a copy of their driver’s license or another form of identification certifying their birthdate. Individuals with disabilities need to have a healthcare or social work provider certify the disability by filling out a special section of the form or submitting a signed letter. Applications may take up to 21 days to be processed after verification has been recieved.

If people would like assistance filling out the application, they can stop by the Bis-Man Transit office at 3750 East Rosser Avenue in Bismarck and office personnel will assist them with the application.

If You Are Visiting

All ADA-eligible individuals visiting the communities served in accordance with the master policy will be eligible to utilize the Bis-Man Transit Paratransit system at the price of $3.00 per ride. These individuals are not required to be registered in our transit database. While in the Bismarck-Mandan area, the individual shall make ride reservations as soon as they know their schedule. These reservations must be made by calling (701) 223-9001. Individuals with ADA disabilities visiting communities served who are in need of using transit services are eligible for transit services while in the cities. Individuals with ADA disabilities may self-certify themselves and use this self-certification up to 21-days in a 365-day period, while visiting. If service is needed beyond the 21-day period, the individual is required to apply for eligibility.
