Paratransit/demand response service is a shared ride mode of service where multiple passengers are picked up and dropped off according to how reservations are made. To help ensure that trips are performed in a timely manner, it is important to remember that there are three ways that a reservation can be set up. These are by pick-up time, drop-off time and "will-call".
1) Pick-up time is used for when your trip requires you to be picked up a certain time such as getting off of work.
a) This type of pick-up reservation prioritizes the time you need to be picked up but may have you dropped off later than you might expect to accommodate other passengers.
a) This type of reservation prioritizes the time you need to be dropped off but may have you picked up earlier than you might expect to accommodate other passengers.
b) It is recommended that you schedule your ride 10 to 15 minutes before your doctor appointment if you need to file paperwork, etc.
A reservation can only be entered in one way. It is not possible to make a reservation that requests both a pick-up time and a drop-off time. Reservation staff can assist in determining the best type of reservation to use.
Feel free to ask your scheduler if you have any additional questions!
