On January 15, 2017, both paratransit and fixed route will experience fare price increases. This will be the first increase Bis-Man Transit has experienced in eight years.
The fixed route fare increases will be as follows:
- Standard Fare
- One-way fare $1.50
- One-day pass $6.00
- 30-day pass $36.00
- Reduced Fare
- One-way fare $0.75
- One-day pass $3.00
- 30-day pass $24.00
Free rides are available for passengers over the age of 65 and those who are ADA-paratransit eligible.
The paratransit fare increases will be as follows:
- One-way fare $3.00
“Fixed route customers who have purchased 30-day passes prior to the 15 will be grandfathered in for the remaining days left on the 30-day pass. Paratransit punch cards can be used but the full three dollars must be paid starting January 15,” said Roy Rickert, Executive Director. “We are working hard to make this transition as smooth as possible.”
As part of the service revisions proposal accepted by the City of Bismarck in late December of 2016, fixed route changes will go into effect on April 1, 2017. Paratransit eligibility changes will go into effect on July 1, 2017.
