Bis-Man Transit To Expand Service Hours Beginning April 1st, 2026

March 25, 2026 -  Bismarck, N.D. – Beginning Wednesday, April 1st, 2026, Bis-Man Transit is expanding service hours for the fixed route CAT bus and paratransit bus systems.

The CAT bus currently operates 7:00 am – 7:00 pm Monday through Friday, and 8:00am – 7:00pm on Saturday.  Beginning April 1st, the CAT bus will add four additional hours each day, and will operate from 6:00 am – 10:00 pm Monday through Friday, and from 7:00 am – 10:00 pm on Saturday. Fares for this service are $1.50 per ride for the general public and $.75 for students, Veterans, and Medicare cardholders (with valid ID). The CAT Bus is free for riders 65 and older and children five and under.

The CAT bus does not run on Sundays or on six holidays throughout the year.  Beginning April 1st, Bis-Man Transit will provide demand response curb-to-curb service to the general public on Sundays from 7:30 am – 6:00 pm and on holidays.  The demand response service will allow the general public to call and schedule rides for Sundays and holidays in advance.  Sunday and holiday demand response rides need to be scheduled at least one day in advance and up to fourteen days in advance. Fares for this service are $3.00 per ride.

The paratransit bus service currently runs from 5:30 am – 12:00 am Monday through Saturday, and from 7:30 am – 2:30 pm on Sunday.  Beginning April 1st, the paratransit service on Sunday will operate from 7:30 am – 6:00 pm.  The Monday through Saturday hours will remain the same.

“These service changes reflect our commitment to better meeting the needs of our community,” said Bis-Man Transit Executive Director Deidre Hughes. “By expanding our CAT Bus hours and adding Sunday and holiday service options, we are making it easier for riders to get to work, appointments, shopping, and spend time with family.”
