Bismarck, N.D. – Capital Area Transit (CAT) and Bis-Man Transit will be conducting three listening events in January and February. These events are free and open to the public.

The first event will be held Friday, January 29, at the Bis-Man Transit Center, located at 3750 East Rosser Avenue in Bismarck. Subsequent listening sessions will also be held Wednesday, February 3, at the Veteran’s Conference Room at Mandan City Hall, located at 205 Second Ave NW in Mandan, and Wednesday, February 10, in Room C at the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library, located at 515 North Fifth Street in Bismarck. All sessions will begin at 4:30 p.m. and conclude by 6 p.m.

“Our intent with public listening sessions is to give ridership and the general public the opportunity to tell us what they would like in a public transportation system,” said Roy Rickert, the Executive Director for the CAT and Bis-Man Transit. “As we move the fixed-route and demand-response systems forward in coming months and years, this input will be an important resource for decisions we make.”

An online form is available for anyone who would like to submit opinions but will be unable to attend the listening events.

Capital Area Transit has served Bismarck-Mandan since 2004. Its 12 fixed routes cover about 113 miles in the community. Bis-Man Transit has provided the paratransit, a curb-to-curb demand-response system for individuals with disabilities and seniors over the age of 60, since 1990.
