New CAT Bus Bike Racks Can Handle Larger Tires & E-Bikes

July 15, 2025 -  Bismarck, N.D. – – Getting around the Bismarck-Mandan area is now easier than ever for bicyclists!

Bis-Man Transit’s CAT buses are now equipped with new fat tire bike racks.  The new bike racks can handle wider tires seen on many current models of electric and standard bikes.

All CAT buses have bike racks on the front to carry a minimum of two bikes.  The bike racks are easy to use, and there is no additional charge to use the bike racks.

"As a bicycle friendly community, many residents ride a bicycle as a healthy and economical transportation alternative.  With the growth in popularity of electric bikes and fat tire bikes, we’re seeing more passengers who would benefit from these larger racks,” said Deidre Hughes, Executive Director at Bis-Man Transit.

For more information on how to use the CAT bus bike racks, visit the fixed route section at  www.bismantransit.com.

The goal of Bis-Man Transit is to deliver valued public transportation, linking people, jobs and communities.
