Bismarck, N.D. – Capital Area Transit (CAT) will be providing a Free Ride Day on Halloween.
This fare free day is not limited to any time or route. It will be available for all twelve routes all day.
“I am excited to have this Free Ride Day on Halloween for our community as one of the first big promotions as Executive Director,” said Transit Executive Director Roy Rickert. “I have heard about its success in the past years, and hope it continues to be a great experience for our customers. It’s a way to say ‘Thank you’ to our loyal riders and give new riders a chance to try CAT for free.”
Drivers for CAT will provide a sweet treat for riders taking advantage of the Halloween Free Ride Day. Candy will be available – while it lasts – for riders on Saturday, October 31.
This is the eighth consecutive year CAT has provided fare-free fun for Halloween.
The 12 CAT bus routes run in Bismarck and Mandan, from about 7 a.m. to about 7 p.m., on Saturday, depending on the route. Riders may “Catch the CAT” on any safe corner along a route by waving to the bus driver as the bus approaches.
CAT is celebrating its eleventh anniversary this year, after providing more than 138,000 rides in 2014.
