CAT Bus and Taxi 9000 Team Up to Get Volunteers to Sandbag Sites

The CAT Bus and Taxi 9000 are working together to get more volunteers to the city’s sandbag sites. Volunteers should gather in the southeast corner of the Kirkwood Mall parking lot, near the JC Penney wing. A CAT bus will pick volunteers up there and transport them to either Sandbag Central North or South, whichever site needs volunteers. Busses will be running every 20-30 minutes.

The CAT busses will run on the following schedule:

Friday – 9:00 am until midnight

Saturday, Sunday, Monday – 6:00 am until midnight

After midnight, volunteers should call Taxi 9000 at 223-9000 for transportation to sandbag sites. Sandbag Central North, located at the Missouri Valley Fairgrounds (3805 E. Bismarck Expressway) and Sandbag Central South, located at the Northern Plains Commerce Center (1901 Northern Plains Drive ), are both open 24 hours a day.

Rides are being provided at no cost to volunteers. Volunteers will be taken to the sandbag site where they are needed the most.

If you’d like to help, but need transportation to the pick-up point at Kirkwood Mall, you can catch the CAT for free – just tell the driver you are going to assist with sandbag operations.
