In an effort to ease parking issues at Sandbag Central North and South, the city will be providing transportation for volunteers to get to the sandbag sites.
Volunteers should gather in the southeast corner of the Kirkwood Mall parking lot, near the JC Penney wing. Starting at 8:30 am, a CAT bus will pick volunteers up there and transport them to either Sandbag Central North or South, whichever site needs volunteers. Busses will be running every 15-20 minutes.
If you’d like to help, but need transportation to the pick-up point at Kirkwood Mall, you can catch the CAT for free – just tell the driver you are going to assist with sandbag operations.
Sandbag Central North, located at the Missouri Valley Faigrounds (3805 E. Bismarck Expressway), is open from 6:00 am until 10:00 pm. Sandbag Central South, located at the Northern Plains Commerce Center (1901 Northern Plains Drive ), is open 24 hours a day.
